Unlike traditional fume hoods there are no installation costs or ductwork necessary. Set up is simple and can be done in minutes. Rolling carts are available so the unit can be moved throughout the lab. Operational costs are lowered because expensive heat and air conditioning is re-circulated instead of being exhausted out of the building.

Air is drawn into the opening at the front of the fume hood. Any fumes or particles within the hood are filtered. After the contaminants are filtered, clean air is returned to the room.

Each unit requires a pre-filter, main filter and safety filter. The safety filter is located on top of the unit, above the fan. Generally the main and safety filter are the same filter type but for specific applications a combination of filter types may be required. Misonix units meet all relevant regulatory standards.

The new Ductless Workstation is a horizontal flow hood that is highly effective at containing fumes, vapors and powders. The front sash opening is 10" high offering an extremely comfortable working area while maintaining a high degree of operator protection. The hinged sash can be opened to a full working area of 36" wide by 16" high and still offer a high degree of protection.
