A 7 inch Android Power gaming tablet will hit the market soon and to be precise it is on 11th June. It will be called Wikipad and will have a price tag of $249. The specification will include a 1.4 GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor.
It will have a 7 inch screen with 1280×800 IPS touchscreen. It will have 16 GB of built in space and 1GB of memory. It will also have 2 MP front facing camera for software like Skype. For connection it will have USB connectivity, micro HDMI support and more. It will be able to take in micro SD slot up to 32 GB. It weights only 0.7 pounds and it will run on Android 4.1.
Users of this Wikipad will be able to download content from three different marketplaces: Google Play, PlayStation Mobile and Nvidia TegraZone. It is pretty handy for getting all the latest games and tools. Few high end games like “Grand Theft Auto 3,” “Need for Speed: Most Wanted,” “Riptide GP” and more can be played on this Wikipad tablet.
Wikipad is not the only tablet for Android gaming solution. There is another one called Ouya , which is trying to achieve the similar goal. Now it is time to see how effective they can be on mainstream gaming market and how can they steal user from them.
Considering PS3 and Xbox out there to compete with, it is unfair to even compare Wikipad with them. It is only a tablet, how possibly it could compete with them where they already have few generations behind them and they all are tried and tested. Also Popular hardcore games will definitely fail to give users same kind of experience on tablet pc.
