Safety is the number one concern when choosing a Fume Hood.  That is why all of our Fume Hood styles are tested in accordance with the current ASHRAE* method of testing performance of laboratory Fume Hoods. 

Even with the sash closed, potentially hazardous vapors are kept away from the work environment as a result of continuous air flow across the work surface.  An internal by-pass opening, located above the sash, allows a constant exhaust volume while maintaining the face velocity.  In operation, by-pass fume hoods work automatically in conjunction with the hood sash.  The by-pass fume hood adjustment is made as the sash is opened and closed creating a relatively constant face velocity regardless of sash position.

Fume Hood superstructures are available in widths from 48" to 96", including LOC's unique 84" wide model.  Service and electrical fixtures are optional and must be ordered separately. (custom fume hood sizes are also available.)
