Description of LED backlight membrane switch:

POLARIS-KEYPAD membrane switches can be built with surface mount LEDs embedded into the switch package to provide a cost effective way for backlighting.

1: LEDs assembled on the PET circuit;

2: can assemble 0805, 1206 and other package type LEDs;

3: LED window on the overlay can be embossed or flat; 

4: LED window can be clear or print transparent color;

5: long life;

6: low cost;

Embossed LED Window:

Embossed LED Window:

This construction provides for a 180° view angle because the LED sits inside an embossed window. This also allows for a thinner construction. The LED window can be clear and semi-transparent.

No Embossing for LED Window:

This construction provides for a flat LED window. Filler is required to make up the height of the LED and this leads to a thicker construction.
