Over the past 10 years, 170,000 bases for growing trees as well as processing of the products have been set up across the country. The March 8th Jinsi Date Demonstrative base in Cang county, Hebei province yields 624 tons of dates, raises 100,000 seedlings and makes 200,000 yuan of profit annually. Led by the base, the date area in the county increases at an average rate of 80,000 mu a year. Now the total area has reached 500,000 mu.
