You Also Need To Clean The Soap Dispenser Pump

Since liquid hand soap has become more and more popular, many people keep a soap dispenser at their sink. Although the soap has cleansing properties, soap dispensers still require cleaning periodically.

The soap dispenser should be cleaned at least once a week. First, you should wash the exterior of your soap dispenser. You can place a small amount of dish soap on a wet sponge or soft piece of terrycloth and use it to rub on the body of the dispenser. Don’t forget to apply some soap to the top of the pump.

After that, run the entire foam soap dispenser under warm water until the soap is all rinsed away. If the pump has grooves on it, you need to periodically scrub it down with a soft brush. An old toothbrush works well for this situation. Make sure to turn the dispenser over and check the underside of the pump for build-up.

When you have cleaned the exterior of the dispenser, you should clean its interior. The interior needs cleaning less frequently. It is enough to clean the inside of your dispenser every few months. Since your soap dispenser needs to be empty to clean it, you can wait until the time for a refill.

To clean the interior, you should remove the pump top from the dispenser pump and put it aside. And then pour soap out of the dispenser. Rinse the dispenser with running water until the water runs clear and the entire soap residue is removed from inside. And to clean the pump, you should fill a sink or plastic container with warm water. Immerse the body of the pump in the water, so water will flow through the pump when you activate it. Replace the water with clean water and repeat to get rid of additional soap residue. Repeat this procedure again yet with five percent bleach solution to thoroughly clean the pump. Finally, pump clear water through it again.
