2-Ethyl butanol, a primary alcohol, is chiefly an esterification component to manufacture wide range of organic compounds used as plasticizers, lubricant additives, hydraulic fluids, diffusion pump oils, heat transfer media, pharmaceuticals, crop protection products herbicides, fungicides, insecticides and acaricides) and wetting agents. 2-Ethyl butanol is useful for penetrating oils, cleaning agents for printed circuit boards, and metal extracting and separating agents.
