Material options: Nonwoven fabric remains the dominant choice as the textile is biodegradable, lightweight, breathable, and withstands moisture and fire. Canvas, which can be made of cotton, linen or polyester, is also popular because of its durability and water resistance. The material, however, yields a coarse surface. Cotton is often adopted at the high end for its strength, although it requires more processes to enable logo application.
Increased user convenience: Many models come with several compartments for holding small items such as keys, business cards and wallets. Some have snap or magnetic buttons and hook-and-loop tape closures, allowing quick access to bag contents.

Strong handles: These are typically made of the same material as the bag and are attached via stitching, rivets or decorative rings. The usual capacity is between 10 and 15kg.

Logo application: Silk-screening is the most popular and price-competitive method. It is suitable for nearly all materials and can be used for large and small orders, and logos in any size. Pad printing is employed for small prints. The process imparts multicolor patterns but is costlier than silk-screening. Hot stamping adds dimensional effects at a relatively expensive rate.
