Creosote oil is a complex combination of hydrocarbons obtained by the distillation of wood tar. It consists primarily of aromatic hydrocarbons and may contain appreciable quantities of tar acids and tar bases. Creosote (oil) in wood tar industry, refers to the high temperature wood tar in light oil and oil the third fractions namely after in 230 ~ 300 evaporate out and say the fractions miscellaneous phenol oil (creosote) Sticky brown liquid. Creosote oil has been used for meat preservation, wood treatment, and for medicinal purposes as an expectorant, anti-septic, astringent, anaesthetic and laxative.
