The construction of ion ground rods - 2012-04-08 17:49:07
Construction methods:
1, drilling
Drill a hole with a diameter of about 160mm in selected site. A depth of 1.5 to 3.5 meters hole is suitable, according to the model, (50cm longer than the ion ground rod)
In small projects or places where it is difficult to drill, you can dig a ditch of 400mm wide, 1.5 to 3.5 meters long (50cm longer than the ion ground rod ), and no less than 800mm deep. And bury in horizontal or slantwise way.
2. the placement of ground rods and leading wire
Strip the seal tapes of ion electrode ground rods at both ends (do not forget!)
Place the ground rods in holes and connect with the leading wire: You can use rust-proof bolts. It is suggested to weld with the widely used fire clay material (heat flux)
To build a network, you need connect the ion ground rods each other. Copper clad steel wire or galvanized flat steel of 95m㎡ can be used, welding ibid.
3. the preparation of electrodes backfill
Prepare the external backfill material and water in proportion 1:1. Stir it into paste.
Fill the prepared material in around the ion ground rods till 50mm above them. Be careful not to keep the air stay in holes, which will influence the close contact of the rods and backfill.
In horizontal and slantwise way , the prepared material can be applied around the ion ground rods.
4. Checking the link and backfill soil
After the above work, check the connection carefully. After confirmation, fill the ditch with soil until it is as high as the ground. During the filling, make it compact. Do not fix with stones, sticks, or plastic.
5. Measuring the resistance
Usually you can measure the resistance firstly 3 days after the project is completed. Then measure it one month later and six months later to observe changes of resistance.
