China aim to develop its own solution-SBR technology to further the development of "green" tires. According to a report from China Petrochemical News published on the website of the China Rubber Industry Association, China lags far behind world manufacturing practices in terms of consumption of S-SBR ,said the report.
Emphasis is being placed on existing producers of styrene and butadiene monomers. In particular Baling Petrochemical has made tonne quantities of trial S-SBR which is claimed to be equivalent to imported grades. The report did not note the catalyst used in this technology.
