A convector heater or fan heater will give you instant heat as soon as it is switched on but the heat is quickly gone once the heater is switched off. Some people find convector and fan heaters dry the air far quicker than other heaters.
Another form of heating is an oil filled heater. This sort of heating is much softer and not quite so hard as convector or fan heating. An oil filled heater will take a little bit longer to produce heat but once turned off will give you longer lasting heat as the oil inside will still be warm.
Space heaters are designed to heat the air rather than the person in front of it. They work by pushing a large volume of air over a heating element, this ensures that the whole area is evenly heated rather just a hot spot directly in front of the heater.
Even the heaters that have an IP protection rating are best to be brought indoors as the rating usually means that it is protected from dust and small droplets of water rather that a heavy down pour of rain. So, outdoor heaters shouldn’t be left outside.
Wall mounted outdoor heaters are recommended to be used under an awning or canopy. Only electric fireplace heaters with an IP rating can be used in bathroom areas. An IP rating classifies the degree of protection provided against the intrusion of water.
If a heater is used in a bathroom that is not designed for this use, it will not be covered by warranty. Most heaters will come with a thermostat built in. This can vary from a simple thermostat to a digital thermostat. A digital thermostat will allow you to see what the current room temperature is and what you have set it to, a simple rotary thermostat would not be as accurate as the digital control.
A convector heater or a fan heater would provide instant heat as soon as they are switched on. But this heat can quickly dissipate when the heater is switched off. If wanting something with longer lasting heater the best heater to go for would be an oil filled heater.
