Detailed Product Description
For the universal joints of commercial vehicle propeller shafts,
we has developed specific cold forged cup needle roller bearings
with a closed end. Their main advantages include:
The thin-walled, case-hardened cup enables the use of relatively
large diameter rollers to provide high load carrying capacity while
still maintaining a compact bearing arrangement. An optimum load
distribution over the rollers is achieved by a special contact
profile and ground raceways. The integral polymer thrust washer and
the special design of the cup bottom enable good damping of axial
shock loads and axial load carrying capacity without the risk of
rupturing the closed cup end.
The spring washer between the roller ends and seal reduces the
risk of false brinelling as it aligns the rollers in the unloaded
zone and causes the roller complement to continue rotating.
Each universal joint bearing is efficiently protected by two
seals made of acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber (NBR). A steel
reinforced outer seal protects against coarse contaminants. A
modified radial shaft seal prevents the ingress of dirt and water
while retaining the grease in the bearing. All universal joint
bearings are lubricated for life. However, relubrication is
possible. For extremely harsh operating conditions, recommends
using Shell Retinax LX2 grease for relubrication.
Universal joint bearings are suitable for temperatures ranging
from 25
